Kesgrave Park F.C. Update

As you can see from the title of this post we have decided upon a name for our wonderful club. Despite Rawsons insistance on 'The Hurricanes' we have gone with Kesgrave Park F.C. because we play in a park, sort of. Kenny is working on the logo and the website, hopefully we'll be able to have a peak at these soon.

Now we have a team name sorted we can get the bank account set up, I'll put in some cash in personally to get us registered with the FA. After that we shouldn't have any problems getting some sponsorship. Laura's research is really helpful and has given us some good direction and grounding, I've looked at a couple of grant website's Laura found. With one we can get straight grant from £300-£10,000, another will match our sponsorship deal £ for £ (i.e. double our money).

Insurance is another thing I need to look at, Laura printed something off for me but I left it at home. I'll give that a run through later today.

That's all I can think of for now, I'll keep you updated with any more developments.

Cheers,

Dave

Community Football Team Update

As it turned out it was kit #3 that we have gone with, #1 and #2 got more in the straight vote but everyone seemed to like #3 as their second choice, so we went with that.

The Winning Design

This is pretty much it except the lettering will be in capitals and it will have our sponsor and club logo on the front.

Nearly there people!

Community Football Team Update

I've recieved the second two designs from our kit suppliers. If we could have a meeting about which kit we are going to go for and brainstorm possible team names tommorow that would be great. The Farmhouse would be ok with me but if someone has a quieter and less distracting venue please let me know.

I've found on the Suffolk FA website (somewhere) that the sign up date to enter a league/cup is June of that season, so we don't have to worry about this for a while.

Our tresurer Laura has found out some info about the legal side of what we need to have a joint account, we'll need to both go in with Chrisy D and a couple of other people as we'll need about five signatures to get the "contract of trust" drawn up.

Also we are on the edge of a deal with Kirton Windows, it looks like we'll get £40 so I'll factor this in and give you an update on the shirt price at the meeting tommorow.

Lastly, links for the kit ideas...

Design #1
Design #2
Design #3

Spread the word about tommorow! If you have a better venue than the farmie please let me know.

Cheers!

1st Draft - Community All-Stars F.C. 07-?? Home Kit

This isn't final, but is what most people at the Farmie seemed to be happy with. We're not certain on the sponsorship yet but it might be Kirton Windows. Where it says "Community All-Stars F.C." we will have a logo, Kent's working on that at the moment. Also I'm not to sure about the font, the player name being 'Randall' not 'RANDALL' or the shade of blue. None of this is too important because we can have as many design inquiries as we like.

1st Draft - Community All-Stars F.C. 07-??
Community Team Meeting

Ladies and gentlemen,

I'd like to suggest we meet up at the Farmhouse tonight at 7:30pm to discuss forming the Community Football Team. We'll discuss such issues as team name, colours, sponsorship etc. I'll print off some of the designs from the shirt website and we'll begin to think about a match kit.

Also I spoke to Ozzy in the car about being sponsored by Kirton Windows, all his dad would have to do is beat the Oweyo Sports offer of 10% per shirt (roughly £36 in total if we get 13 shirts) which looks fairly likely. If we got the Oweyo Sports logo on our sleeves then we could save a further 5% per shirt bring in the price down to under £25!

Let me know If you can/not make it, much appreciated.

Yrs,

Dave

IMPORTANT ANNOUCEMENT

It's not often that I post on this thing, but this definatly warrants it. If you were watching the final at the farmie yesterday you might have been part of a conversation talking about gett ing professional looking community football shirts printed, with 'Community FC' (or something) logo and WideAsleep.Net as a sponsor? Well I've found a great website for doing it.

Designs
Pricing

It'll basically work out at 37.90 Euros per shirt with a 20 Euro shipping fee, numbers and names are free. If we get less than 10 people up for this there will be another 70 Euros on top of that, but seriously, who would not want one? Post if you are up for it, shot-gun a number if you want it desperatly. We can sort out the design etc. at a meeting at the farm house some time.

Anyway, shot gun number 5.

Announcing...

randyLANsix

I know this is short notice chaps but that's all the time I've had to plan, mother thinks she can knock the wind out of my pre-meditated sails by declaring that she is going on a short holiday just a day before she does but I'll best her yet!

Anyway the day will be tommorow (told you abouth the short notice) and should last day and night, I will probably be opening for business about 12ish for you early birds but mid-afternoon arivals should be ok. The feature game will be Civilization 4 so I'd firstly like to get the people in who enjoyed the previous titles or would like to give it a shot, after that people who just like the general LAN atmosphere.

The people who I know would be interested in this are (in no particular order)...

1. Me (ob!)
2. Jay
3. James
4. Rawson
5. Walling
6. Rusty
7. Blair (know he likes the game but not sure how hot he is on bringing a machine)

Of course the regulars and guests are always welcome at the randyLAN but keep in mind there won't be too much FPSing this time round, we're breaking the mold here.

I've also got a spare PC that can be used if someone would like to come but doesn't have/can't bring a PC, but it will have to stay upstairs and out of the way as it is the net server.

Last thing I'd like to point out that we can get you the game installed on your machine and it comes with a tutorial that takes rougly an hour, I advise that everyone except Jay and I should give that a whack, it's pretty good as tutorials go.

Regards,
Randy

The Ever Evolving Sign Up List
1. Myself
2. Jay (after work, 5pmish?)
3. Chantal
4. James
5. Rusty (probably)
6. Greeny
7. Laura (guest)
8. Kenno
9. Bev (although has to work from 4-8ish?)
10. Walling (will probably be late)
11. Chris D (guest)

Sadly Cannot Be With Us
1. 19

Hey everyone, just incase you didn't know I've left uni now. I wanted to change to Business Studies but they wouldn't let me (had ABC and needed ABB) so I've decided to go into IT down here in Ipswich. I've just got a 3 month contract with the NHS here at Ipswich operating their Smart Card registration equipment, this should hopefully give me some experience that I can use to climb the ladder. Garrrr, i start tommorow.

In other news a few of us are planning to move into a new house in 6-12 months time, this should be excellent and lots of fun.

Had a wicked last couple of days, Laura's party was ace as was James' gathering. Cheers goes to both of yas!

Just came 1st in an UP SnG which won me a nice 500pts. Now i've got 622pts that 2400pt UltimateBet hat looks just a few games away!

On the subject of Poker i've had loads of interest in the poker tournament so that'll definatly be going ahead in a few weeks. I want to get a date set before I officially open registration, it'll probably be on a Saturday afternoon/evening after the Gloustershire boys get back.

Also for those of you that use UltimateBet we are going to do the first 'Wideasleep 500 Bonus $ Challenge' in the next few days. The idea being we'll all go in for the same freeroll and see who does the best. More news on that later.

Poker

Went round walling's yesterday to play some poker with him and James brianhawkins. Walling bested me in the first £1 game, reading me perfectly and calling my Ace high. In the second game I was big stacked after taking alot of chips of him earlier, he was playing very aggresivly and he was quickly chipping me away thanks to the high blinds. In the end though he went all in, I called him shouting "YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW POWERFUL I AM" before getting up on the table and urinating in the face. Come to think about it that might not have happend. I can't remember the exact hands but I think I had two overcards and the community cards didn't save him.

So to conclude James pretty much just gave myself and Walling a quid each, cheers James.

We then hooked up with Chantal lackofcontrol69 and went to Tescos to buy Sponge Bob Squarepants, we also saw laura_itfc whch was nice. We proceeded to Burger King where me and the boys put on some potential muscle and finally off to James's to watch the film, I must say it was hilarious (seriously, I don't usually like kids films).

Online poker now, got my 'UltimatePoints' (UP) through today which pushed me over the 100pt mark needed to buy into a UP Sit and Go. I came 3rd which doubled by points, I was 2nd stacked on the last hand. Big Stack called me all in and I decided to call with my AK, he had AQ. To quote www.planetstacked.com

"Dominated hands (ex. AK vs. AQ or J5 vs. J4): Hand with better kicker is ~69% to ~75% favorite."

The bugger hit his Q giving him a pair. He said I got "bad beat" but I don't like to think like that, if the better hand always won then poker would be no fun. Besides winging about things all the time only puts you "on tilt" and worsens your game in the long run. I'm just happy to have one a pot in my first online sit and go that really meant something, If i had come 10th to 4th like the 7 buggers who went out before me I would have had to wait another month to get enough UP's to enter another one.

Going round my sisters for a Chinese later today, my Dad will be there. It's the first time I've seen him for 1 yr and 6 months so I'm looking forward to that.

Anyone heading to the farmie at 7:38? If so i'll see you there!

Had my interview with the NHS Admin and Clerical department today, went really well. When they match me up to my references I'll probably be working on 'Medical Records' shifting through a database of current and ex-patients. It pays £6.92 p/h, 11% bonus on every pay check and it has a pension scheme.

Now that is ever so slightly better than McDonalds...

Poker Tournament

Good afternoon everyone!

Just writing to inform you that myself and Mr Walling walling are planning to hold a largeish No-Limit Hold 'Em Poker tournament in the near future. I'm just trying to gauge a response here, see how many people might be up for it and see if it's worth going ahead with the plan.

If you are slightly interested, even if you don't think you'll commit in the long term or don't currently know how to play Poker or Hold 'Em at the moment please comment here or email poker@wideasleep.net

If you don't know how to play but would like to know, or you get the jist but would like to improve to an adequete level then give me a shout and i'll try to organise a training event to go over the basics and get you up to scratch. I highly recommend downloading and playing www.ultimatebet.com, they have a huge amount of 'play chip' tables and several good freerolls (tournaments with no entry fee) daily.

If enough people are interested then myself and Walling will do the ground work. It will be very professionaly run, right down to dealers, multiple tables and even casino quality chips. The buy in (entry fee that goes into the pot) will probably be £5 (so if 20 people enter the prize pool will be £100). We will also have a £1 entry fee (or something there abouts), this will be used to pay the dealers, hire the venue etc, if there is any cash left over (i doubt it) i'll probably start some kind of fund for buying extra chips and felt table mats and stuff, to ensure transparency (ie. prove that me and Walling arn't nicking anything) i'll probably post the accounts of the fund online so you can see what we are doing.

All the information will be available on a wideasleep hosted poker website which will be ready for launch in the next couple of days. If you have any further queries please ask myself or Walling, alternativly email the address above.

Thanks for your time,
Dave
